For four generations, our family produces extra virgin olive oil in a medium sized olive grove, at the southeastern part of the Peloponnesian peninsula. "The Poet" EVOO is the flagship of our family's production and is the result of strong dedication to our vision.
Our precious extra virgin olive oil is named in honor of the famous Greek poet Yiannis Ritsos (1909-1990), who was born and raised in Monemvasia, some kilometers away from our olive grove.
Its distinctive taste derives from the two local varieties which exist in our olive grove, the "Koroneiki" variety and the "Mourtolia" variety. The harvesting and extraction of the juice takes place between the end of November and the end of December, depending on the weather. Then the olive oil is stored in a stainless steal container and stays there until the physical filtration is completed.
This amazing extra virgin olive oil can be served raw in salads, but can also be used for cooking (do not cook with temperatures higher than 200 °C) .
